    A record-breaking heatwave in western Canada and the US is causing a spike in heat-related deaths.

    Hospitals are reporting a flood of heatstroke victims, and officials are warning the weather is likely to remain at scorching levels.

    US President Joe Biden said on Wednesday he will give firefighters’ a pay raise to $15 an hour, as he met with a group of governors to discuss drought, heat and wildfires in the western part of the US.

Its advanced economy is the tenth-largest in the world, relying chiefly upon its abundant natural resources and well-developed international trade networks.
