    The European Commission President, Ursula von der Leyen, has said the EU, after four years, has a ‘friend in the White House’ ahead of Joe Biden’s inauguration on Wednesday.

    “Joe Biden’s oath will be a message of healing for deeply divided nation,” she said.

    “This new dawn in America is the moment we’ve been waiting for so long. Europe is ready for a new start with our oldest and most trusted partner,” von der Leyen added
