UN urges $2.1bn aid for Yemen crisis

The United Nations has only raised half the money it says it needs to fight the ‘world’s largest hunger crisis’.

Two years of war have pushed Yemen to the brink of famine, destroyed the health system and blocked imports of crucial food and medicine.

Donors at a conference in Geneva have pledged $1.1bn for aid, but the UN says it needs about $2.1bn.
