Global News published this video item, entitled “UN Security Council meeting on Ukraine humanitarian crisis | LIVE” – below is their description.

The UN Security Council has scheduled an open meeting on the humanitarian situation in Ukraine at the request of France and Mexico, and is expected to be briefed by officials from the UN humanitarian office and UNICEF, and will then hear statements from Council members and Ukraine.

The UNSC will discuss the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine, though Russia’s veto power over the council has effectively blocked any council resolutions against its military tactics in Ukraine. However, the General Assembly did recently adopt a resolution that would bring every use of a Security Council veto up for scrutiny by the entire body.
