  • Al Jazeera English published this video item, entitled “UN Security Council backs Antonio Guterres for second term” – below is their description.

The United Nations Security Council has officially backed Antonio Guterres for a second five-year term as secretary-general.

While the decision was expected, Guterres’ style of quiet diplomacy has been a disappointment for human rights organisations, who say he has been too reluctant to criticise the powerful governments who handed him the job.

Al Jazeera’s Kristen Saloomey reports from the UN headquarters in the US city of New York.
