It comes after two of their colleagues were reported as asymptomatic cases. Officials said the two workers offloaded a batch of imported frozen seafood last Saturday, on which traces of the coronavirus were later found. The products were immediately sealed and blocked from entering the market. Authorities are carrying out further tests for the coronavirus at the port. Hundreds of samples taken from cold chain products and the surrounding environment have been collected – 51 samples have tested positive to date. An emergency response plan has been activated and the overall operation of the port remains normal. Meanwhile, a United Nations official has praised China’s commitment to international cooperation, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
