The UN’s chief administrative officer is the Secretary-General, currently Portuguese politician and diplomat António Guterres, who began his five year-term on 1 January 2017.

    United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres met the press after delivering his remarks at the Climate Ambition Summit 2020.

    On 12 December, the United Nations, United Kingdom and France are co-hosting the Climate Ambition Summit 2020, in partnership with Chile and Italy.

    Marking the 5th anniversary of the #ParisAgreement, the event brought together leaders who are ready to make new commitments to tackle climate change.
