World Health Organization officials who are in the Gaza Strip to assess the humanitarian damage after Israel’s 11-day bombing campaign say the occupied Palestinian territory has “staggering health needs”.

The head of the International Committee of the Red Cross appealed for more than $16m to help the people in Gaza.

The attacks killed at least 254 Palestinians and flattened many homes, schools, hospitals and other infrastructure.

Al Jazeera’s Youmna El Sayed reports from Gaza.
