UN admits role in Haiti cholera outbreak

The United Nations has acknowledged it played a role in the initial cholera outbreak in Haiti nearly six years ago.

10,000 Haitians have died since a cholera epidemic broke out near a UN base after the country’s 2010 earthquake.

The UN says a new response plan will be presented next month.

Al Jazeera’s Mike Hanna reports from the United Nations.
