Sky News Australia published this video item, entitled “UK restrictions to be relaxed for Christmas” – below is their description.
The British government has announced confirmation of a United Kingdom wide approach to Christmas this year following talks with the first ministers of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. People will be allowed to form bubbles so that families may come together from across the country. Britain’s restrictions will be suspended over the holiday, with the 10pm curfew on pubs and restaurants expected to be scrapped. While the nation’s lockdown was set to end on December 2, UK Chancellor Rishi Sunak warned Christmas would still not be the same. Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s plan to form a united front over Christmas was not wholly well received, with 70 Conservative MPs writing to him and warning their support was not guaranteed. Mr Johnson said he hoped to reinstate normal life by next Easter.
