The Labour Party have lost a strong seat in the North of England to the Conservative Party in the 2010 UK General Election as Conservative candidate John Stevenson claims the ward by a slim margin of 853 votes.
The Conservatives gained 5.9% on 2005, while Labour lost a huge 9.6% from the last election to produce the swing from Red to Blue.
