Uk general election 2010: conservatives claim kingswood 1The Conservative Party has claimed the 2005 Labour seat of Kingswood, in the South West of England in the 2010 UK General Election, as their candidate Chris Skidmore took a majority of 2,445 from 47,906 votes cast.

Kingswood General Election 2010 Result:

  • Chris Skidmore – Conservative – 19,362
  • Roger Berry – Labour – 16,917
  • Sally FitzHarris – Liberal Democrat – 8,072
  • Neil Dowdney – UK Independence Party – 1,528
  • Michael Carey – British National Party – 1,311
  • Nick Foster – Green – 383
  • Michael Blundell – English Democrats – 333

This represented a drop of over 10% in votes for the Labour candidate and a gain of over 8% in votes for the Conservative candidate in this ward.
