UK Covid-19 news: Prime Minister Boris Johnson admits that the Moderna CEO is ‘probably right’ about the new Covid omicron variant.

Dr Jenny Harries warned Omicron could have a ‘significant impact on our hospitals’ if jabs are much weaker. The Head of NHS Test and Trace said reducing socialising over festive period could help stop spread of variant.

Asked about the socialising comment, PM Boris Johnson said ‘I think what Jenny is saying there is right’.
