Uganda’s opposition party, the National Unity Platform, says thousands of its supporters have been arrested, kidnapped or “disappeared” by security forces.
Opposition leader Bobi Wine claims his supporters have been targeted in a spate of disappearances linked to January’s general election.
He has challenged the outcome in court, accusing President Yoweri Museveni of voter fraud.
The president recently told the nation his forces have mostly been dealing with those he called “terrorists” out to destabilise the country.
Al Jazeera’s Catherine Soi reports from Nairobi, in neighbouring Kenya.
