96-year-old World War II veteran Len Gibbon completed a 104-mile cycle for charity to mark the 76th anniversary of the Normandy landings. Due to social distancing, his friend and fellow Normandy Veteran, Peter Hawkins, 95, also took on the challenge. Using a stationary bike, they wanted to cover the distance from Portsmouth to Gold Beach by D-Day on June 6. The two have raised 6,839 pounds (8,663 U.S. dollars) on their Just Giving page.
