Two naughty members among the well-traveled wandering wild elephant herd were found slapping each other over the head with their trunks in southwest China’s Yunnan Province. According to authorities, the elephants are increasing their daily movements, with the group’s activities now starting earlier in the day. The herd is still roaming within Shijie Township in the city of Yuxi and traveled 7.4 km southwest between 6 p.m. on Wednesday and 6 p.m. on Thursday. The headquarters in charge of monitoring the elephants is working to establish a regular mechanism for ensuring the safety of the herd and people nearby.
