Global News published this video item, entitled “Turkey and Azerbaijan hold joint military drills near Turkish-Armenian border” – below is their description.
Turkish and Azeri soldiers held joint military exercises on Thursday in Turkey’s eastern province of Kars near the country’s border with Armenia, overseen by Defence Minister Hulusi Akar and his Azeri counterpart Zakir Hasanov.
Carried out with domestic weapons and equipment, the main focus of the exercises was to improve operational capabilities during extreme winter conditions.
The joint military drill comes two months after Azerbaijan and Armenia sealed a Russia-brokered ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh that was agreed upon following a flare-up in the conflict in the region last year.
