President Donald Trump issued a dire warning Friday about what would happen if Joe Biden is elected president in November, telling a crowd that “the future of our country and civilization is at stake.”
Trump made the comments during a speech to the GOP-aligned Council for National Policy in Arlington, Virginia.
Anxious for his turn in the spotlight after the four-day Democratic National Convention, Trump hit his opponent hard, saying if Biden wins, the country will fall into “total anarchy, madness and chaos.”
The president also issued his starkest warning to date about mail-in voting, claiming the results of the November 3rd election may not be known for weeks, months, or ever for that matter.
And he told the crowd there is a “theory” that that could result in Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi becoming president.
“I don’t think you’ll know two weeks later. I don’t think you’ll know four weeks later. I don’t know what’s going to happen,” Trump said, adding, “You know there’s a theory that if you don’t have it by the end of the year crazy Nancy Pelosi would become president.”
Trump then followed up to say he doesn’t “know if it’s a theory or a fact.” But he said, either way, it’s “not good.”
