U.S. President Donald Trump and his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, were greeted by the sound of booing and chants of “vote him out” by the crowd gathered outside the Supreme Court, where the body of the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has been lying in repose. The President and First Lady were there to pay there respects to Ginsberg as Trump has said he plans to move forward with announcing a nominee to fill her vacant seat on the United States Supreme Court. Mourners filed quietly past the late Supreme Court Justice’s flag-draped coffin outside the white marble court building on Wednesday, as the United States began three days of tributes to the liberal icon. Hundreds of people lined up outside the court for a chance to pay their respects to the pioneering women’s rights advocate, who died at age 87. Inside the court, Ginsburg‘s fellow justices celebrated her life in a private ceremony. Voting is a method for a group, such as a meeting or an electorate, in order to make a collective decision or express an opinion usually following discussions, debates or election campaigns. Democracies elect holders of high office by voting. Residents of a place represented by an elected official are called “constituents”, and those constituents who cast a ballot for their chosen candidate are called “voters”. There are different systems for collecting votes, but while many of the systems used in decision-making can also be used as electoral systems, any which cater for proportional representation can only be used in elections.

In smaller organizations, voting can occur in different ways. Formally via ballot to elect others for example within a workplace, to elect members of political associations or to choose roles for others. Informally voting could occur as a spoken agreement or as a verbal gesture like a raised hand or electronically.
