President Donald Trump has been hit by new allegations from his own former National Security Adviser and longtime Republican John Bolton.
Trump revealed he didn’t know the UK was a nuclear power during a meeting with former prime minister Theresa May, Mr Bolton claims in his new book ‘The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir’.
The former adviser added that he could tell the question from the US president about the UK, which has long maintained a nuclear arsenal, ‘was not intended as a joke.’
The US president responded by branding Mr Bolton a ‘wacko’, saying the book is ‘made up of lies and fake stories’.
Another claim in Mr Bolton’s book is that Mr Trump sought Chinese leader Xi Jinping’s help to win the 2020 presidential election during a private meeting.
