Trump fails to condemn white supremacist groups, branding violence a ‘left-wing’ problem

The Telegraph published this video item, entitled “Trump fails to condemn white supremacist groups, branding violence a ‘left-wing’ problem” – below is their description.

President Donald Trump declined to clearly condemn white supremacist groups and their role in violence in some American cities this summer during Tuesday’s debate, instead branding it solely a “left-wing” problem. “Almost everything I see is from the left wing, not from the right,” Trump said. When asked directly to condemn these groups, Trump said: “Sure, I’m willing to do it.” Moderator Chris Wallace specifically mentioned Kenosha, Wisconsin, where a white teenager was charged with shooting two protesters during demonstrations over the police shooting of Jacob Blake, a Black man, in August. Trump asked who to condemn, when Biden chimed in “Proud Boys”, a right-wing group that’s organized protests in Portland, Oregon, and is designated a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. Trump responded: “Proud Boys stand back, stand by. But somebody’s got to do something about Antifa. “Antifa is bad. It’s a dangerous radical group and they’ll overthrow you [Mr Biden].” For the full rundown of events in the heated debate, click here: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2020/09/30/election-debate-live-donald-trump-joe-biden-latest-us-2020-president/ Why not check out a few of our other US election videos?
