    As leaders of the G7 nations meet in England, questions are being raised about whether gathering during a pandemic is a good idea.

    It’s the first time the current group of leaders from those seven democracies will meet in person, and the Canadian leader’s first trip abroad since March 2020.

    Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is already facing criticism about the quarantining plan for him and his delegation once they return to Canada.

    As a highly developed country, Canada has the seventeenth-highest nominal per-capita income globally as well as the thirteenth-highest ranking in the Human Development Index. Its advanced economy is the tenth-largest in the world, relying chiefly upon its abundant natural resources and well-developed international trade networks.
