Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, alongside federal health officials, provided an update Tuesday on the country’s COVID-19 cases and vaccine rollout.

Last week, Trudeau announced that the Canada-U.S. land border will remain closed for at least another month in order to curb the spread of COVID-19.

The joint restrictions have been in place since March 2020 and were mutually agreed upon by both countries. The ban has been rolled over several times since.

The government also announced an extension of the travel ban on flights coming from India and Pakistan until June 21 as both countries continue to deal with high levels of COVID-19 infections.
