Three road workers have somehow managed to survive after a truck careered out of control down the M1 and ploughed through their Kangy Angy work site before bursting into flames early this morning.

The inferno brought traffic to a standstill. And with one lane of the motorway still closed, drivers should expect more delays tonight and tomorrow.
