Tropical Storm Laura brought heavy rain, high winds, and flooding to the Cayman Islands on Monday, August 24, as the storm moved west-northwest over the Caribbean Sea, local media reported.
The National Hurricane Center said heavy rain and flash flooding were also impacting Jamaica and parts of Cuba on Monday. The center of Laura was forecast to move over the Caribbean Sea just off the southern coast of Cuba on Monday afternoon and cross western Cuba in the evening.
The storm was expected to move into the Gulf of Mexico on Monday night and approach the northwestern coast of the Gulf of Mexico by Wednesday night.
This footage was posted to Twitter by Anuradha Srinivasan, who said it was filmed in West Bay, a district on the west side of Grand Cayman Island, on Monday.
