The Telegraph published this video item, entitled “Travel’s green list: We answer your questions about summer holidays, Portugal and Australia” – below is their description.
The Government has announced the return of quarantine-free holidays abroad from May 17 under a “traffic light system” which dictates different restrictions for different destinations.
The Telegraph’s Head of Travel Claire Irvin has answered some of our reader’s questions about the new travelling rules.
Under this system, travellers will be able to visit countries under the “green list” without having to self-isolate if they provide two negative Covid-19 tests: one before arrival to the UK and another two days after arriving.
Travellers arriving from an “amber list” country will need to provide a pre-departure test and self-isolate for 10 days, with two further tests on the second and eighth day.
Travel to “red list” countries is still banned for all but essential reasons, with arrivals having to quarantine at an airport hotel at the cost of £1,750 per person.
