For more: https://www.cgtn.com/video At the G20 Summit, Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed a global QR code system as a way to help open up travel amid the coronavirus pandemic. It involves a mechanism that would allow global recognition of a person’s travel history and health records, including COVID-19 test results. QR codes are in widespread use in China. Since February, they’ve been used to provide a person’s health status and travel history. Getting a green pass after scanning a health code in China means a person is healthy and eligible for traveling, while a yellow or red code means the individual has to be quarantined. Because using QR codes does not require physical contact, it lessens the risk of virus transmission. How feasible is a global health code system?
