Asked about lifting lockdown, Professor Neil Ferguson says it is “not clear that it will automatically” result in an increase in transmission. But most of the modelling suggests there will be a small increase.
He tells the Lords Science and Technology Committee he expects cases to remain relatively flat between now and September.
The former Government scientific adviser also said most “trains of transmission still existing in the UK” came from Spain and Italy.
