In the wake of the explosion at Armenia’s Yerevan’s “Surmalu” market on August 14, experts warn that harmful toxic substances that caused by blast will remain in the air for a long time and may spread tens of kilometers away from the scene. Materials such as artificial leather, plastic and tech products produce Teflon, even when burnt . People who live nearby the market are advised to close and put wet towels around their windows – a difficult feat in a city where the daily temperature can reach up to and exceed 42°C (about 107.6°F).
