Total lockdown for Chile capital after surge in virus cases

Chile’s president has ordered a total lockdown of the capital Santiago.
Sebastian Pinera made the decision after infections in the city went up by 500 percent in just two weeks.
More than eight million people will now be confined to their homes.

Chile, officially the Republic of Chile, is a country in western South America. It occupies a long, narrow strip of land between the Andes to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west.
