A Tory MP has been ordered to pay more than £700 by a court after his Jack Russell caused a stampede of 200 deer in Richmond Park.

Danny Kruger, the MP for Devizes, appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court yesterday and pleaded guilty to letting his 11-month old Jack Russell puppy, Pebble, chase deer off the lead in the park in March.

In footage filmed by a member of the public, Donald Milton, Kruger can be heard repeatedly shouting “Pebble” before putting his dog on a lead.
