Sky News published this video item, entitled “Tory MP accused of rape agrees to stay away from parliament” – below is their description.
A Conservative MP accused of rape has agreed to stay away from parliament, the Commons Speaker said as he urged colleagues not to reveal his identity.
The Tory chief whip asked the suspected MP to remain off site as the investigation is ongoing, but as he has not been suspended, the unnamed MP remains a part of the parliamentary party and can still therefore enter parliament.
The announcement from Speaker Sir Lindsay came a day after the Metropolitan Police said the man, aged in his 50s, has been arrested in relation to offences said to have taken place between 2002 and 2009. He has since been bailed.
