French pianist Tony Tixier has described his songs as a collection of emotions put into musical form. That’s certainly the case with his fifth album, “I am Human”, recorded during the first Covid-19 lockdown. He tells FRANCE 24’s Florence Villeminot about this intimate reflection on humanity and what it’s like to play with his twin brother, violinist Scott Tixier. We also look at new releases from other artists keeping it in the family, from the son and grandson of Nigerian legend Fela Kuti to English indie folk trio The Staves.
