American actor Tom Hanks, who tested positive for COVID-19 last week, has been discharged from the Gold Coast University hospital as Queensland’s total number of cases reach 78.
His wife Rita Wilson remains in the isolation ward for the time being.
Hanks was in Queensland to work on an Elvis biopic with director Baz Luhrmann.
The production of the film has been put on hold and other cast and crew are believed to be in self-isolation.
Hanks revealed the couple’s diagnosis on social media last week and thanked “everyone here Down Under” who had taken care of them.
