Time-lapse: 10 years of the sun

The Solar Dynamics Observatory has watched the sun for over 10 years taking 425 million high-resolution images every 0.75 seconds in its orbit around Earth. The images show the outermost part
of the sun’s atmosphere, which gives rise to solar wind the hot, energized, charged particles
that stream outward and fill the solar system
