BBC News published this video item, entitled “Tighter restrictions in Bolton may be curbing the rise in coronavirus infections – BBC News” – below is their description.
Bolton in Greater Manchester is one of the areas where tighter restrictions have been imposed, including a ban on being in other people’s homes. Pubs, bars and restaurants there can offer take-away or delivery only and venues have been forced to close at 10pm. Infection rates are still high there but the rate has started to come down. Meanwhile new tighter restrictions have come into force in Wales, while in Scotland more than 1.5 million people are living in areas with tougher health guidelines. At Westminster the Chancellor Rishi Sunak is considering how to respond to the new surge in the virus and tougher restrictions. The Treasury is now considering whether to continue some support measures that were due to end. Huw Edwards presents BBC News at Ten reporting by Ed Thomas in Bolton, Hywel Griffith in Wales, Scotland editor Sarah Smith, Northern Ireland correspondent Emma Vardy and economics editor Faisal Islam.
