Threat of legal action and protests add to pressure over A-level row

The government and the exams regulator are being threatened with legal action as pressure mounts for a rethink over the awarding of A-level grades.

Hundreds of angry students have demonstrated in Westminster, with some chanting “get Gav gone” and “come out Gavin” as they protested outside Education Secretary Gavin Williamson’s departmental building.
