Thousands turn out for Black Lives Matter demonstration in Birmingham

Thousands of protesters descended on Centenary Square in Birmingham city centre for a Black Lives Matter demonstration.

There were poignant scenes in the city centre as demonstrators took a knee and chanted after the death of George Floyd in the U.S.

Mr Floyd died after a white officer held him down by pressing a knee into his neck in Minneapolis on May 25, sparking days of protest in the US.
