A group of an estimate of 5,000 migrants, are traveling from Venezuela, Central America and the Caribbean has joined the largest caravan so far this year hoping to reach the U.S.
They were some 30 kilometers north of Tapachula on Tuesday, a city in Mexico’s Chiapas state.
The departure of the caravan coincides with this week’s Summit of the Americas, a gathering of regional representatives from almost all every country in Latin America, Central America, and the Caribbean taking place in Los Angeles.
