Thousands of Boeing employees, both new and old, bid an emotional farewell to the iconic 747 upon its final delivery to Atlas Air in Washington state on January 31, 2023. Known as the “Queen of the Skies”, the Boeing 747 is the world’s first twin-aisle aeroplane and was at one point the largest commercial aircraft that brought air travel to the masses. Boeing announced an end to its production in 2020 as it developed more fuel-efficient planes. Nevertheless, the iconic airliner has cemented its place as an indelible part of American culture.
