Global News published this video item, entitled “Thousands march silently in France in memory of slain history teacher” – below is their description.
Thousands held a silent march on Tuesday to pay homage to the French history teacher beheaded outside the school where he taught last Friday for discussing caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad with his class. The march started in front of the Bois d’Aulne mid-school where 47-year-old Samuel Paty worked and then went to the centre of Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, a town situated one hour away from Paris. “It was moving,” said one high-school student who lives in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine. “It was important to be part of it”, said primary school teacher Mourad Dali who travelled to take part in the march. Samuel Paty will be given a national homage presided by French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday at the Sorbonne University.
