Thousands of Pakistanis on held a rally in Karachi on Sunday in support of Palestinians, as a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas held into a third day.

Egypt and Qatar, which has ties with Hamas, led regional efforts for the ceasefire that ended the fighting in which aerial bombardment of Gaza killed 248 Palestinians and rocket attacks killed 12 people in Israel.

Sunday’s rally, called “Palestine March” was organized by Islamist party Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and held on one of Karachi’s busiest and most important roads.

Waving Palestinian flags, demonstrators chanted and held placards reading “We stand with Palestine,” “Free Palestine,” and “Palestine lives matter.” A group of supporters on horseback held Palestinian flags.

Pakistan, a largely Muslim country, has no diplomatic relations with Israel.
