Have the guns gone silent for good in Colombia, or is it too soon to celebrate the end of Latin America’s longest conflict? The government deal with the FARCs in Havana was hailed for the novel ways it promises guarantees for the guerillas who lay down their weapons and come out of the jungle.
But will the guerrillas listen to their leadership? In particular what about those who dabble in the drug trade? What about the livelihood and safety of indigenous peasants?
