Why do you choose to live where you are? Takeuchi Ryo, a Japanese filmmaker who has been living in China since 2013, has been trying to find the answer. In 2020, his documentary “Long Time No See Wuhan” became an instant hit for its touching account of life under lockdown from cross-culture perspectives. Since then, he’s taken his endeavor to a whole new level. Last year, he traveled across China to produce pieces such as “The Post-Pandemic Era” and “100 Faces of Huawei.” So what are the answers he has found? Why does he choose to live here?
