Global News published this video item, entitled “The Pandora Papers: What you need to know about the biggest-ever probe into offshore accounts” – below is their description.
From pop star Shakira to Russian President Vladimir Putin and former British prime minister Tony Blair, the “Pandora Papers” shed light on how the rich and famous have used offshore accounts over the last quarter century.

India, officially the Republic of India, is a country in South Asia. It is the second-most populous country, the seventh-largest country by land area, and the most populous democracy in the world. New Delhi is the capital.
It has an exceptionally diverse population, with Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains and other religions speaking over 21 recognised languages.
The term “Pandora Papers” refers to a huge collection of data which was leaked to the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists in 2021. The papers contained nearly 12 million documents, sourced from around the world, relating to corporate and financial transactions of wealthy individuals. Many global leaders, current and former politicians, political donors, and monarchs saw transactions, which would otherwise have remained secret, exposed to the public.
Very quickly, allegations of bribery, corruption, tax avoidance and several challenging ethical questions have been raised as a result of this data being made public.
