The life and legacy of Booker Prize-winning author Hilary Mantel | 7.30

ABC News (Australia) published this video item, entitled “The life and legacy of Booker Prize-winning author Hilary Mantel | 7.30” – below is their description.

Extraordinary tributes have flowed from fellow writers for British novelist Dame Hilary Mantel since she died suddenly last week. Best known for her Wolf Hall trilogy, Mantel wrote across an extraordinary range of genres but is perhaps best known at the end of her life for reinventing the historical novel as serious work.

Another novelist who knew and eulogised Mantel is the Pakistani-British author Kamila Shamsie, whose new novel Best of Friends has just been released.
