Senator James McGrath: The left create ‘gulags for words and thoughts’

Sky News Australia published this video item, entitled “The left create ‘gulags for words and thoughts'” – below is their description.

Liberal Senator James McGrath says the leftist establishment “takes away the essence of the individual” and dehumanises people.

“(The leftist establishment) takes away the essence of the individual, it dehumanises them, in a way, and it paints them as this bad, non-human and it does it through subscribing to this person bad characteristics, so, if you’re right of centre, automatically you’re a bad person.

“What the Left do is they create gulags for words and gulags for thoughts.

“The people on the right, we are dehumanized and anything we believe in, or say or think, is locked away and that’s in the naughty corner, you’re not allowed to go there.

“This is how it happens in China.

“This is not a big step because it’s a classic, classic play in the left.

“If you look at the history of the world in the 20th century and the 21st century, this is what the left do.”

  1. A lot of these themes are important, and interesting… but it isn’t “the left” doing this. “The left” isn’t a co-ordinated entity operating some global conspiracy against you.

What’s happening at present, is a re-balancing of a game which previously featured a stacked deck – broadly, let’s call it Capitalism. The people who were winning this game before, are struggling, or at least, they can feel their grip weakening.

Things are changing, and, as conservatives, we don’t like this. But the world has changed. The world did change. The world will continue to change.

    Deal with it.
