The Government’s new coronavirus trace app will be officially launched today.
A lot is riding on the app being a success.
If it works, it will speed up investigations into positive virus cases in the community and could lead to restrictions being eased sooner.
But, the system has its critics, especially on privacy and security grounds.
Greg Jennett explains how the app is meant to work and why the Government wants 40 per cent of phone owners to install it.
