The families living inside the battle for Mosul – BBC News

Hundreds of thousands of civilians have fled the northern Iraqi city of Mosul over the last six months as government security forces continue their military offensive to reclaim the city from the so-called Islamic State group. Iraqi forces are now moving through neighbourhoods to the south, west and north of the old city, where just a few hundred IS fighters are believed to be holding out.
Filmmaker Joshua Baker, for the BBC’s Victoria Derbyshire programme, has been inside the city, meeting the people who have fled the fighting, and finding out what life is like for those who have managed to return to the recaptured areas.
