Aleppo, a war-ravaged city split between the government and rebels, is an emblem of the Syrian conflict. Rebels are now pushing with a “last-chance” assault seeking to break the Syrian forces’ siege on their territories. The BBC spoke to a doctor running one of the few remaining hospitals in the rebel-held areas of the city.
Dr Hamza al-Khatib, a general surgeon, lives and works in the hospital. He reveals how they help people survive in a battle zone.
